Introduction

Welcome to AniZone — Your Anime Hub ("AniZone," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our mobile application on iOS (the "App").

By downloading, accessing, or using AniZone, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

AniZone is an anime discovery and companion app. We help you browse, search, and organize anime information. We do not host or stream copyrighted video content within the App.

Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Display name — A nickname you optionally enter during onboarding, stored locally on your device.
  • Lists & preferences — Anime you save to My List, favorites, and recently viewed titles, stored locally on your device.
  • Support communications — If you email us, we receive the content of your message and your email address.

Information collected automatically

  • Device & app data — Device type, operating system version, app version, language, and general usage interactions (e.g., taps that trigger ads).
  • Advertising identifiers — On iOS, the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) may be collected by our ad partners if you grant App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission.
  • Ad interaction data — Impressions, clicks, and ad performance data collected by Google AdMob.
  • Diagnostic data — Crash logs or performance data may be collected by third-party SDKs to maintain ad delivery and app stability.

Information we do not collect

We do not require you to create an account. We do not collect your real name, postal address, phone number, payment information, or precise GPS location through the App.

How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the App and its features;
  • Display anime metadata, search results, and personalized lists stored on your device;
  • Deliver and measure advertisements through Google AdMob;
  • Comply with privacy laws and honor your advertising consent choices;
  • Respond to support requests and communicate with you;
  • Detect abuse, maintain security, and fix technical issues.

Advertising & AdMob

AniZone is supported by advertising. We use Google AdMob (Google LLC) to display banner ads, interstitial ads, and app open ads within the App.

What AdMob may collect

Google and its partners may collect and process data including advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS), IP address, device information, app interactions, and ad engagement data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads, measure ad performance, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.

For more information about how Google uses data from apps that use its services, visit:

Ad formats in AniZone

  • Banner ads — Displayed at the bottom of certain screens.
  • Interstitial ads — Full-screen ads shown periodically after in-app interactions.
  • App open ads — Shown when returning to the App from the background.

Tracking & Consent

App Tracking Transparency (iOS)

On iOS, before personalized advertising identifiers are used, the App may present Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt asking whether you allow tracking across apps and websites owned by other companies. You can choose Allow or Ask App Not to Track. You can change this later in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Google User Messaging Platform (UMP)

We use Google's User Messaging Platform to collect and manage your consent for advertising and data processing where required by law (including the EU/EEA, UK, and other regions). UMP may present a consent form on first launch or when regulations require it. Your choices are stored and applied to ad requests made through AdMob.

Limit Ad Tracking

You can limit ad personalization on iOS via Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising (or equivalent settings on your device). Declining tracking or consent may result in non-personalized ads; the App remains usable.

Third-Party Services

The App integrates third-party services that may collect information as described in their own policies:

Google AdMob

Advertising delivery and measurement. Provider: Google LLC.

The Movie Database (TMDB)

We use the TMDB API to fetch publicly available anime metadata (titles, descriptions, posters, ratings). TMDB receives your search queries and API requests. We do not send your personal identity to TMDB. See the TMDB Privacy Policy.

YouTube (Embedded Player)

Trailers may open via embedded YouTube players. YouTube/Google may collect usage data subject to the Google Privacy Policy.

Apple In-App Review

We may prompt you to rate the App using Apple's native in-app review dialog. Apple processes this interaction according to its own privacy terms.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties. We encourage you to review their policies independently.

Local Storage on Your Device

Most of your App data is stored locally on your device using on-device storage (SharedPreferences and similar mechanisms), including:

  • Your chosen display name;
  • My List and favorites;
  • Recently viewed anime;
  • Privacy and consent preferences;
  • Cached images for faster loading.

This data is not synced to our servers unless you contact us directly. Uninstalling the App removes locally stored data from your device.

Children's Privacy

AniZone is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at anizoneemd@proton.me and we will take steps to delete such information.

Data Retention

  • On-device data — Retained until you clear app data or uninstall the App.
  • Ad & analytics data — Retained by Google/AdMob according to Google's retention policies.
  • Support emails — Retained as long as needed to resolve your inquiry and for legal compliance.

Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you;
  • Object to or restrict certain processing;
  • Withdraw consent for advertising where consent is the legal basis;
  • Opt out of personalized ads via device and in-app consent settings;
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise these rights, contact us at anizoneemd@proton.me. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe as required by applicable law.

Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of data processed by third-party ad networks or APIs.

International Users

AniZone may be used globally. Third-party services such as Google AdMob and TMDB may process data in the United States and other countries. By using the App, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar laws apply, our legal bases for processing include consent (advertising/tracking), legitimate interests (app functionality and security), and compliance with legal obligations.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated in-app or via App Store release notes. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
